The Sacred Takila Tour in Lhuentse is famous for a giant statue of Guru Nangsa Zelnen. The statue stands over 154 ft tall and was consecrated in 2015 although the construction work began in 2008. It is undoubtedly one of the most sacred historical and religious places in Lhuentse. Many important festivals of nearby communities take place at Takila. The popular festival of the Kurtoe region called “Chha” also takes place here.
DAY 1: PARO/THIMPHU
Arrive any time at Paro International Airport (2200 meters above sea level) and transfer to Thimphu. In Thimphu (2300m), if time permits, take an orientation walk in town, do some shopping, and get settled.

DAY 2: THIMPHU
Hike to Tango Monastery in the first half of the day. After lunch, visit the majestic Tashichhodzong, Buddha Dodernma Statue, National Memorial Hospital, and Takin Park.

DAY 3: THIMPHU–PUNAKHA
Travel towards Punakha.
On the way, stop at Dochula pass and visit the 108 Victory Stupas. Then visit Chimi Lhakhang, the fertility temple. Afternoon, visit to the majestic Punakha Dzong, the longest suspension bridge, and Galem’s house.

DAY 4: PUNAKHA -BUMTHANG
Depart for Bumthang.
En route, visit the reconstruction site of Wangduepodrang dzong. Then stop at the Trongsa for lunch. Our highest driving point will be a mountain pass- Pelela at 3140. From Yotongla pass, we gradually take a descent to the floor of Bumthang valley which is often filled with dense fog.

DAY 5: BUMTHANG
Visit Tamzhing Monastery. Then walk to the sacred Kurjey Lhakhang. Resume walking towards Jambay Lhakhang. Ramble through the small Chamkhar town in the evening.

DAY 6: BUMTHANG -TANGMACHU
Leave Bumthang for Lhuentse. En route, visit the ruins of Druk Zhongkhar Dzong at Lingmithang.

DAY 7: LHUNTSE
Leave for Tangmachu and visit one of the most sacred statues of Guru Rinpoche nestled on a hill overlooking the valley that originates from the feet of Lhuntse Dzong. If time permits, we will visit other tourist sites.

DAY 8: LHUNTSE-MONGAR
Depart for Mongar. Visit the majestic Mongar Dzong. In the evening, go for a walk along the street of Mongar town.

DAY 9: MONGAR -TRONGSA
Leave Mongar for Trongsa. Have an orientation walk in Trongsa town in the evening.
Overnight stay in Trongsa
DAY 10: TRONGSA- PHOBJIKHA
Before departing for Phobjikha, visit the biggest fortress in Bhutan, the Trongsa Dzong. Then visit Ta Dzong which today is a museum. Travel towards Phobjikha.
Visit Gangtey Monastery and have a short walk along the Nature Trail.

DAY11: PHOBJAKHA – PARO
In the morning, visit the Black-necked crane center at PhobjikhaThen depart for Paro. Have an orientation walk along the Paro town in the evening to buy some gifts and souvenirs.
