The most memorable and enjoyable day hike towards Pumola Lhakhang / Pumula Highest peak at an altitude of 4,035mts. It is said that the Pumola trail was used by the royal messengers to trade between Paro to Thimphu in the olden days. A day hike offers the opportunity to see scarcely the modern developments over the Capital city of times.
The nature trail will take us through coniferous cold broad-leaved woods via Phajoding Monastery, a Buddhist monastery near Thimphu Bhutan. It was one of the richest and most decorated monasteries in the country, which was listed in 2010 by the World Monuments Fund as an endangered cultural monument back to home by passing beautiful mountain ridges and magical pasture land that leads toward Buddha Point or the Buddha Dordenma located atop a hill in Kuenselphodrang and overlooks the Southern Thimphu Valley.
The statue fulfills an ancient prophecy discovered by Terton and is said to emanate peace and happiness to the entire world. This massive statue of Shakyamuni measures in at the height of 51.5 m, making it one of the most giant statues of Buddha in the world.
