Happy to share Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom has just won two awards at the Ulju Mountain Film Festival in South Korea! We have been awarded the NETPAC (Network for the Promotion of Asia Pacific Cinema) award and the Youth Jury Award of the Festival. The NETPAC award was decided by a jury team of professional film critics, while the Youth Jury Award was decided by students from the local high school.
Being recognized as an awardee by both the professional film critics and youth juries is truly humbling. These two awards are the 9th and 10th international awards the film has won, with awards being won in the US, the Netherlands, Italy, France and now South Korea.
Here’s a fun fact. The first ever winner of the NETPAC award was my father-in-law, Stan Lai, who won it for his film ‘Secret Love in the Peach Blossomland’. He won the award at the Singapore International Film Festival in 1991.
Thankful to everyone who has been part of the journey and making everything a possibility.
Kadrinche la.
